SHADES OF MOMMYHOOD
Making a Difference Through Prenatal Education
Shades of Mommyhood is collaborating with March of Dimes to provide an online, interactive prenatal education program called Becoming A Mom Live. Participants will learn about tips for a healthy pregnancy and connect with healthcare professionals and other pregnant people in a virtual setting over a 9-week course. At the end of the course, the participants will be gifted with the essentials necessary to care for a baby.
WHO WE ARE
Racial and ethnic disparities persist in pregnancy-related deaths. According to the Center for Disease Control, Black, American Indian, and Alaska Native Women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than White women. Here are at Shades of Mommyhood we strive to combat the maternal mortality rate through providing minority expectant mothers with prenatal education and tools to have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
